THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Thank you to Meg Morse for a some inspirational and wise thoughts from Coach John Wooden (he was nearly 100 when he passed away in 2010!)
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Day of Caring and Community Clean up Day: Tara Weaver thanked our many Rotarians who volunteered for these two service days – both very successful events. Remember you get make-ups for these and the organizations we helped very much appreciate our members’ engagement in our “service above self” activities! And an extra thanks to Tara for organizing both these days!
Ski Town Classic: Jackie Brown reminded us that raffle tickets ($50/each) are on sale NOW until event. Cash prizes are: 1 @ $5,000; 1 @ $2500; 2 @ $1000; 5 @ $500; and 5 @$100) and you don’t have to be present to win. AND you can sell to friends, family and colleagues. So pick up a stack from any committee member and help get all the printed tickets
sold! And we all received our one required ticket for the event – June 11th is the reception. ALSO, please be sure to sign up for volunteer needs for this important event. Volunteer Contact Scott Wither: scott@mybrokers.com.
Flower Barrels – more opportunities to serve over next few weeks. The work is not strenuous and the setting at CMC beautiful. This, like the Ski Town Classic event requires everyone to volunteer, if at all possible! Contact person is Gillian Morris: gilliandmorris@gmail.com.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Dan Callahan did the honors of introducing Kali Constine from Sorocco High School. Kali is another gifted student and accomplished athlete and also has very high marks in the character and leadership field too! Congratulations, Kali!

MEETING
PROGRAM: Our program, by popular demand from club members, enabled us to hear from 8 of our grant recipients and how they were able to put our funds to good use. Represented were Girls to Women, Integrated Community, NW Visiting Nurses Association, Partners in Routt County, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Steamboat Girl Scouts, Steamboat HSD After Prom and Steamboat Tennis Association. We can be very proud of helping these leaders “do good in our world.” Admittedly, the Girl Scouts seemed to be the “favorites”…was it because they brought Girl Scout cookies or just that they were so cute and articulate?! Thanks to all for sharing with us and we look forward to hearing from more recipients in the next few weeks. Thanks, Jeremy Behling for chairing the Grants Committee and making these presentations happen!
GOOD NEWS: Thanks to Kris Hammond who did "Good News" which was a lengthy and lucrative session - $402 And to Dan Callahan for his many years of living which helped sweeten the Good News hat!
NEXT WEEK: Exchange student, Anna Heidler – who will share how this past year in Steamboat has impacted her. AND the sharing of our awards from the District Conference!
