FOR ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE MEETING - May 31, 2016

GREETERS: 

Thanks to Coleman Cook and Bobby Davis for serving as greeters and to Coleman for doing our introductions.   

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:  A thank you to Alice Klauzer for the Thought for the Day on the importance of a smile!

PROGRAM:

Part One: Four more grant recipients reported on how our grants are helping their organizations – Routt County Council on Aging, Steamboat Art Museum and The Journey Ahead.  Thanks for helping us understand the important work you do in our community!  

Part Two: 

Anna Heidler, our exchange student from Dresden, Germany, decribed her year in Steamboat – what she did and how it has impacted her life.  When asked, “What do you tell your friends back home about how Americans are not as you expected?” with the grace of a true ambassador, Anna said “I’ll have to think about that!”   We very much enjoyed having Anna with us and wish her a wonderful future, with hopes she’ll come back to visit us.   A huge thank you to Anna’s host families:  The Elliotts, Bunkers and Brices - who all made Anna’s time here extra special!

GOOD NEWS:  Thanks to Gillian Morris who did her usual speedy and fun Good News collection!

NEXT WEEK:  Mike Forney’s trip to Brazil as an  RI President’s Rep.
