FOR THOSE ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE MEETING ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2014

                Our Program on Tuesday was to receive: “thank you’s” from representatives of various groups in the community to which we provide assistance. Margaret Lichtenfels kicked it off as representative of our Steamboat Springs High School Interact Club. Margaret was followed by Laura Schmidt, Executive Director of Lift-Up. We also heard from the Boy Scouts, Scout, Ian Savage and Scout Master, Dan Ragan, who presented a slide show and a thank you card signed by members of the troop.

                It is a pleasure to support each of these groups. You contribute so much to the community. We are proud of our association with you and look forward to our continuing relationship.

                Marcie Valicenti provided our Thought for the Day. Marci inspired us with the story of a sports team that “adopted” a handicapped child and observed how wonderful it would be if other sports teams followed suit. Thank you Marci for that inspiring story.

Thank you to our Greeters, Tracy Barnett and Brad Meeks. Tracy also introduced our guests, (25 of them!), and visiting Rotarians.

                We also celebrated Club Membership Anniversaries. First and foremost, Sam Haslem, (33 years), Jim Steinberg, (29 years), Kris Hammond, (27 years), Rick Bear, (21 years), Paula Cooper Black, (20 years), Kerry Shea, (7 years), Mignon Stetman, (4 years), Ron Thom, (4 years), Kathy Elliot, (3 years), and Brad Meeks, (3 years.)

                We inducted two new members: Lori Livingston and Mike Schlicterman. Ellen Kendall welcomed Lori and Mike, by leading us in the Rotary: “Happy Clap”! We are happy to have you with us Lori and Mike.

                Ray Martinez filled us in on the details of the upcoming Community Holiday Party. Thank you!

                Cam Boyd recruited his volunteers for the Dictionary distribution in Hayden.

                Thank you to John Kuhn for handling Good News.

                Last, but certainly not least, Carol Parish and Steve Sehnert, Co-Chairs of the Barn Dance Committee, recognized their Committee members who worked so hard to make that event such a success. Lynna Broyles and a number of other representatives from the Boys and Girls Club were on hand. Two of the Boys and Girls Club members told us how the Boys and Girls Club helps them in their lives.  Then, Carol and Steve presented the Boys and Girls Club with a check from the proceeds of the Barn Dance in the amount of $22,934.00!
