A Holiday Lunch with Our Families!   Thanks to the Grand for a kid menu and “make your own sundae dessert.”  Huge success!
 
GREETERS:  Thanks to Angela Catterson and John Centner for serving as greeters and to Angela for doing our introductions.   We combined “Thought for the Day” with introductions and had our many “Rota-Kids” introduce themselves and say what they were grateful for this Holiday Season.   Sweet comments and discovered those with an affinity for the microphone and those not so much!    
 
And a special welcome back to Paul Hebert, who was in Virginia for 4 months and to Melissa Gibson and Gareth Mensing, who have been on leave.  Always nice to see members back “with us!” 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Only one mandatory announcement:  Our final reading and adoption of our slate of Officers and Directors for 2016-17:  Our motions and seconds and a unanimous vote will be documented in Board Meetings in January.

PROGRAM:   SPELLBINDERS
 
Sherry Holland and David Moulton, from Spellbinders,  presented two riveting stories as the kids sat on the floor – multitasking with a craft project (thanks to Melissa Gibson for bringing materials.) Though Carol Sehnert (Steve’s wife and retired librarian) assured me it was a good thing that the kids were listening and doing a craft,  I wasn’t sure until Paul Hebert’s grandson, told me the details of the penguin story.   He was listening!  Thanks to Mike Forney for suggesting this program…perhaps an annual event?!  
 
Good News ($262) Thank you  Winnie Delliquadre who did a perfectly timed Good News!    And remember that our January 12th “Good News” will honor Sam Haslem and go to the scholarship in his name that has been organized by his family. 
 
Next Weeks Program: Happy Hour at McKnight’s at 5:00.  Bring guests!  No formal meeting. 
 
January 5:   Change of location;  Vaqueros! And Classification Talk from Jim Clark.
 
January 12:    Mark your calendars to honor Sam Haslem.  Jim McGibney will talk about the Rotary International Convention in Seoul, Korea and because he is a consul for the Korean Government he will honor Sam and several other Korean vets from our community during this program.
