FOR THOSE ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2015 MEETING
Our Program at the meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, was devoted to: “Rallying the Troops” for our upcoming: Ski Town Golf Classic. Thank you, Jackie, Scott and Steve for the up-dates, the schedule of events and especially the preview of the new attraction we will have at the Party Friday evening – the Golf Simulator. Prediction – it is going to be a big hit!
Lori Livingston and Jim Clark served as our Greeters. Jim also introduced our one guest. Thank you, Lori and Jim. Lori also gave us our Thought for the Day, what we want is the best for our children.
We recognized our Rotarian of the Month, Kris Hammond, for his leadership on our Agua Prieta, Mexico Service Project with our Steamboat Springs High School Interact Club. Thank you, Kris, you wore a lot of hats on that trip and you performed with aplomb!
Tara Weaver and Jim Moylan received their Sponsor Pins with Blue Backing for sponsoring Bob Weinman, as a new member in our Club.
Thank you to Kris Hammond for taking care of Good News for us.
Ellen Kendall reminded us to save The Rotarian Magazine for our member recruitment efforts.
At the request of Past District 5440 Governor, Julie Phares, we are putting together a Steamboat Get-A-Way Weekend Gift Basket for a Longs Peak Rotary Club Fund-Raiser in Estes Park, CO. Thank you’s already to: Scott for Lodging, Rex for Restaurant Gift Certificates, and Mark for Butcherknife Brewery merchandise. Gillian is coordinating this project. Thank you, Gillian.
Tara reminded us about United Way Day of Caring, May 20, 2015. We will also be doing some “hands-on” work with the Routt County Council On Aging, (“RCCOA”), at their luncheon facility in Hayden, CO., at a date to be announced.
Also, we have all the volunteers we need for the RCCOA “Spring Fling” Luncheon on Friday, May 8, 2015. Thank you to everyone who agreed to help out on this annual community event.
Gillian and Kathy asked us to: “Save the date” for Flower Barrel distribution, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 5:00 pm at the Rodeo grounds.
District 5440 Conference – June 18-20, 2015 Fort Collins, CO. Rotary Friendship Exchange – Steamboat 6/20-23/15 Rotarians from District 3131 (India) to be hosted by Janet and Mike Forney and Mayling and Paul Hebert. Big thank you to the Forneys and the Heberts!
