FOR THOSE ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2015 MEETING

We learned at the meeting that on Monday evening, Judge Shelley A. Hill issued a written Decision denying the Motion to Amend the Order Dismissing the Complaint, (i.e., a “Motion for Reconsideration”) in: “The Situation.” Absent an Appeal to the Colorado Court of Appeals, all that remains is our submitting an updated Attorneys’ Fee Petition and briefing thereon. We should know the outcome of that process by mid-March, 2015. The Club will be kept posted.

We celebrated our February, birthdays: Jay Wetzler, Joan Lazarus, Holly Larson, Tara Weaver, Mignon Stetman, Erik Griepentrog, Jonathan Bishop and Jim Moylan.

Paul Hebert, gave us our Thought for the Day, tying it to the theme of Peace, a Rotary International priority, our dear, departed friend, and Rotarian, Mike Roberts and our Peace Pavilion. Thank you Paul, the quotes you shared were very much appreciated and inspiring.

Thank you to our Greeters, Lori Livingston and Steve Hitchcock, who also introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians.   Lisa Schlicterman received her Rotarian of the Month recognition for her significant contribution to Rotary Action , (November, 2014.)  Thanks again to Lisa, Lynna Broyles and the Public Relations Committee for a great job!

 

Jim had to leave the meeting to participate in a Rotary Arbitration Hearing as Club representative.

Ellen Kendall assumed the gavel for the remainder of the meeting. Thank you, Ellen.

 

Dave Garner, a Colorado native, provided us with a very interesting and inspiring talk during which

we discovered that David was a “Rotarian in spirit” as early as his college days when he spent time in

Honduras doing humanitarian projects. David is a master of reinventing his career and life.   Lucky for us

that Steamboat Springs fit all David’s criteria for the place to blend his career (now COO of Yampa Valley

Medical Center) and the raising of his 3 children with wife, Lisa.  Thank you for becoming such a valued member of our club and community!

 

Steve Sehnert, our Webmeister, presented a brief and useful overview of how to use Club Runner to update your member information.   Steve gently chided us,  “We know who you are if you don’t use Club Runner on a regular basis!” and encouraged us to take advantage of its many features. Thank you, Steve!
