Meeting Notes - July 17, 2012

At the Rotary meeting today Jenny Wall provided a thought for the day about embracing change, Dennis Podzemny and Brad Meeks served as greeters, Mattia Duryea (a continuing scholarship student) and her sisters sang a beautiful song for us, and members who celebrated a club anniversary in July were recognized.
Mignon Stetman was recognized as Rotarian of the Month for July for all of her time, effort and dedication to the Golf Classic.
David Lamb and Paul Hebert regaled us with stories and other personal information during their classification talks. Classification talks are always my favorite programs and today's talks were most excellent. David spoke of his love of the valley, of growing up ski racing in Steamboat Springs, his skiing career, mentors and community supporters, and the role that they played in his decisions, including his decision to return to Steamboat Springs to open a financial business here. Paul Hebert spoke of his college days in Virginia when he first decided he wanted to work overseas and his subsequent 35 year career in international development and humanitarian aid, including his time in Iran, the Phillipines, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Nepal, and East Africa.

- if you will volunteer one on one with youth - please submit a volunteer affidavit to the club secretary or to John Fleeker.
Good News was $248 and Lift Up collections were $120.99.
