Happy 49th Anniversary to our club! We had a beautiful day celebrating at the Peace Pavilion. Thanks to the member of Cabaret for the entertainment.

I am very excited to announce that Ellen Kendall was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. John Holloway nominated Ellen and the Board enthusiastically agreed. Here are a few words from John's letter:

No woman has ever been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award, and if Ellen Kendall hasn’t been “the very best Rotarian ever”, I don’t know who has.  She participates at every level of Rotary and contributes more, even when she’s out of town, than the vast majority of Rotarians in the Club, and beyond.  Our club wouldn’t have the diverse make-up (females) it has without Ellen.  She’s brought more new members to the Club than anyone, or at least so it appears to me.  The diversity has been recognized by the District and I think has made for a much better Club.

Congratulations Ellen-very well deserved!

Aug 28th, Monday
Our very first Lobsterfest in 2019 was to raise funds to build the Sancy Shaw Memorial Soccer Field at the North Routt Charter School. Sancy was a mother of 4 children and a teacher at the school. Soccer was a large part of her life, and she played in college at the University of Wyoming. Sancy was tragically killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve 2018. The field is done, and the dedication will be this Monday, Aug 28th at 8:00am. If you would like to carpool, please let me know.
