Two Community leaders who are not Rotarians became Paul Harris Fellows awarded by the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs at our meeting on Aug 9.
Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary International in 1905 in Chicago, IL which now has 1.2 million members in 200 countries around the world.
Awards were made to:
Jason Peasley is the Executive Director of the Yampa Valley Housing Authority who has helped bring much needed housing to the Steamboat area.
Mark Kovach has made two humanitarian trips to Ukraine since the conflict began there. He has assembled Care Kits for refugees and has personally distributed them. He also helped arrange evacuations of women and children from some of the threatened towns.
These two community leaders embody the "Service Above Self" spirit of Paul Harris and are being recognized for their work.
