October 2023 Rotary Community Needs Grants: $16,000
 
LiftUp $2,000. To help support and fund LiftUp’s Rocket Pack program that provides school-aged children with health snacks during the school year and lunches during the Summer. The program hopes to nourish children that are low-income and/or food insecure (serving roughly 500 children).
 
Town of Yampa $1,600. To support the preparation, equipment and other costs associated with reviving the Yampa Ice Rink.
 
Steamboat Tennis Association $1,500. To fund transportation costs, rackets for kids and healthy snacks for their SERVES program (122 kids currently involved). SERVES is an acronym for: Success, Education, Respect, Values, Excellence and Self-Confidence and these principles are built into the fabric of the program — a program that incorporates more than just tennis. Athletic skills development as well as learning and practicing life and leadership skills round out our holistic approach for youth development.
 
Steamboat Reading $1,400. Funds will directly support Steamboat Reading’s scholarship/sliding scale program to ensure that everyone has access to Steamboat Reading services regardless of their ability to pay. Steamboat Reading creates a community of support for struggling readers and their families through one-on-one tutoring, formal evaluations, advocacy, parent education, and dyslexia awareness.
 
NorthWest Colorado Center for Independence $1,000. To support Youth Transition Services for students with disabilities and their families. ​NorthWest Colorado Center for Independence works with people who have disabilities to explore options, set goals, develop skills and take action for living more independently.
 
REPS (Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide) $2,000. Funds will allow REPS to produce a new video that educates youth on the impacts of bullying and importance of mental health and support.
 
Colorado New Play Festival $1,000. Allow Colorado New Play Festival to expand their creation of youth story telling series to South Routt to serve underserved youth in those communities. The Colorado New Play Festival's mission is to advance the art of storytelling as an essential element of the human condition and spirit.
 
Steamboat Montessori $2,000. To purchase letter tiles, foundations letter Board and other literacy manipulatives for Steamboat Montessori classrooms.
 
Strings Music Festival $1,000. Help cover the cost of transporting students to Strings School Days programs. Strings School Days is a unique music and arts education program provided by Strings Music Festival at no cost to schools, students, or teachers. Annually, the program serves over 3,000 K-12 students in 14 schools throughout the Yampa Valley. 
 
Partners For Youth $1,500. To support youth activities for both community and school-based mentoring programming in Routt County; specifically funds will be used to cover the costs of supplies and activity stipends.
 
Town of Oak Creek $1,000. To help expand recreational activities and programs for community members of all ages and abilities including but not limited to Teen Nights, Art for Adults and Science Club.
