October 2025 Rotary Community Needs Grants: $24,984
Steamboat Tennis Association $1,000. To help fund tutoring for SERVES program. SERVES is a program for under resourced kids which includes after-school tennis clinics and a pathway to play varsity high school tennis. For kids who are functioning below grade level, they are offered after school tutoring performed by current teachers.
LiftUp $2,000. To support LiftUp’s Rocket Pack program, which provides school-aged children with healthy snacks during the school year and lunches during the summer. For the 2024-25 school year, 729 children were served per week and the need continues to increase.
Steamboat Dance Theater $1,000. To support Dance Vitality program to aging seniors. Dance Vitality programs provides consistent and free dance classes to older adults. Classes are offered 3 times a week for 26 weeks and the program is expanding to Hayden.
Northwest Colorado Health $1,000. To purchase art supplies for Youth resiliency program. Youth are referred to the pram when they need additional support to strengthen their ability to function at home, in school, and in the community. Through art projects, expressive exercises, and guided discussions, youth practice coping strategies, emotional regulation, and relationship skills.
Advocates of Routt County $2,000. Funds to help replace and update the children’s play area in the backyard of Advocates’ domestic violence shelter. The current structure is aging and is no longer safe.
Strawberry Park Elementary $1,800. To help support a high-quality and inclusive elementary performing arts program that takes place during the school day, at no cost to students and families, to ensure equitable access for 100% of kindergarten to 5th grade students.
Warhorse Ranch $1,000. Support development and implementation of new youth-focused programming offering equine assisted services and mental health education opportunities designed to help young people identify and regulate their mental health symptoms.
Rout County Council On Aging $1,196. To purchase supplies for aging well classes and social activities. Supplies will allow for ROCCA to provide many opportunities for older adults to come together and socialize, including exercise classes to improve health and fun.
South Routt Elementary School $2,000. To purchase reusable classroom STEM kits for each grade kindergarten through 5th grade for their new Project Lead the Way programming.
Hayden School District $1,900. Purchase composting bin and worms to help launch’s the Hayden High School Eco Club’s school-based experimental learning project of composting waste from the school cafeteria.
Steamboat Montessori $1,000. Purchase specialized tools, toys and equipment for their new dedicated Sensory Room. Due to increased enrollment, Steamboat Montessori also has an increase of children with special needs and this Sensory Room will help them be able to better serve those children, ensuring every child can engage, learn, and succeed.
Boys & Girls Club $2,000. Purchase acoustic panels to install and hallway and the Imaginative Play room at the Steamboat Club. These panels will help reduce noise levels that currently are a bit overwhelming especially for those kids with noise sensitivities.
Whiteout Volleyball Club $700. Purchase 20 volley-lite balls for their growing Developmental Program serving 4th and 5th graders. These balls are essential to ensure safe, inclusive and equitable participation for this age group.
Partners for Youth $1,000. Help fund activity reimbursements for community-based mentoring program. These funds will allow partners to every so often do something special as sharing a meal out, trying a new activity, or celebrating a big achievement, which can make all the difference.
True North $650. Help support day program enrichment activities that impact young adults with disabilities.
The Cycle Effect $1,000. Purchase helmets and bike gear as well as fund bike maintenance expenses for their 2026 Girls Mountain Bike Mentorship Program. This highly subsidized out of school program focuses on empower young women (ages 10-18 with 70% identifying as Latina and or BIPOC an/or low-income with social emotional risk factors) through mentorship and mountain biking, teaching life skills, and leadership development while fostering a sense of belonging in the outdoors.
Steamboat Reading $2,000. Support scholarship and sliding scales program. These funds go directly to fee reductions for families and allows Steamboat Reading to serve more children. Steamboat Reading empower children who struggle with reading, especially those with dyslexia, to become confident, capable readers.
Girls On The Run $738. Purchase healthy snacks to help feed participants showing up hungry and without their own packed snack. Funds will allow the program to provide snacks for their 3-8 grade participants, snacks for multiple years.
Piknik Theatre $1,000. Help fund Arts Fusion Lab – a collaborative youth arts initiative created in partnership with Opera Steamboat, Steamboat Dance Theatre, and Boys & Girls Club. The Arts Fusion Lab introduces local children in grades 2-5 to the fundamentals of theatre, dance, and opera through weekly classes. Funds ensure that the program can continue and maintain open access for participating students.
