FOR ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE MEETING - March 8, 2016

Another fun meeting at Vaqueros. We were a bit sound challenged, but the food and company were great! Only one (admitted) “went to the Grand” late arrival!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Thanks to Marci Valicenti for sharing a “Thought for the Day” on living a dog’s life. It did sound appealing!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Ski Day is March 15^th. John Holloway reminded us to come join our Annual Ski Day next week. A short meeting followed by skiing (teams and “play” to be determined – always works out!) Après ski will be at T-Bar at 4:00. T-bar is on the mountain and parking at 2045 Ski Time Sq. Drive. Owned by John’s son, Tres’. Buy own drinks and John’s other son, Coleman, will be cooking! Yummy food and all invited!

Ag Alliance Breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 Wednesday, March 23: It is an honor for us to be invited and you know that Sam Haslem would enthusiastically encourage us to attend. Please RSVP directly to admin@communityagalliance.org by Noon, March 18^th.

Scholarship Applications and Deadline: Julie Taulman reminded us that scholarship applications are being accepted from Routt County high school seniors who will attend a university, college or vocational program for 2016-17. Students are encouraged to apply by March 18^th. Applications can be found at www.steamboatrotary.com. Spread the word! This is what makes our “Good News” contributions so worthy!

Crutches for Africa Drive – Thanks to Rachelle Summers for stepping up to Chair this important project. It will be held in early May this year. If interested in helping Rachelle and her committee, let her know.

PROGRAM: Club Assembly – A time for a final quarter of the year (almost) check in. We filled out a survey and then had table discussions around a few questions about how to improve our club. Great feedback to be compiled and shared by Ellen at a future meeting. Thanks all for your usual thoughtful and creative ideas! !

GOOD NEWS ($228) Thank you to John Holloway who filled Tony’s Counts beanie to the brim. Lots of good news and a “must say:” A new grandson for Jim Moylan (his first!) Congratulations, Jim!

NEXT WEEK’S PROGRAM: Ski Day and March 22^nd is Dave Talbot (a powerful and moving speaker) from Crutches for Africa. You won’t want to miss either!
