Singing at Casey’s Pond: Debbie Aragon invited us to pick a time for our annual Casey’s Pond Sing-a-long. We chose noon on Dec. 15th – when we have no regular meeting. Wear your Christmas hats and share some Christmas songs with residents. Lucky for us…Emerald Mountain School students will join us and even more lucky, Jim Nowak is bringing his accordion! See you all there!
Bring Holiday Gift Supplies Next Week: We have been asked to help out YPN with their holiday gift project for the United Way Holiday Market by bringing wrapping supplies – paper, ribbon, bows and tape to our next meeting. So please pick up some extra when you are shopping for such!
OCTOBER ROTARIAN OF THE MONTH: Gillian Morris received the Rotarian of the Month award for all she does, but especially for her leadership with two important events - Flowers Barrels and the 4 Way Test. Both done with her usual enthusiasm and competence! Congratulations, Gillian!
STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Congratulations to Surina Techarukpong of Steamboat High School, an extraordinary student with all kinds of interest, including participating in our forthcoming Agua Prieta trip! And it’s even more special when the student is “one of our own” - Lori Livingston is Surina’s mother. Also in attendance was Amy Swartz, Lori’s sister and Surina’s aunt.
PROGRAM:
Classification Talks: Two interesting and entertaining talks representing two ends of the career spectrum. Larry Carlson, now retired, shared his exceptionally interesting career adventures and a great wedding story!
Dillon Fulcher, just beginning his career, shared his adventures of being a “military brat” to now an attorney in Steamboat. Thanks to both of you for sharing your stories!
Good News ($166) Thanks to Steve Sehnert for a fast and extra fun good news. We even adjourned on time (okay, maybe a minute late!)
Next Weeks Program: Jim Boyne, Executive Director of Winter Sports Club, will tell us about what’s been happening on the mountain this past summer.
