January 2013 Board Report

The club’s board of directors met on January 14th.  Highlights from the meeting include:

·         The board reviewed the club’s financials and discussed financial procedures.  The board voted to spend funds to update quickbooks and reaffirmed the need for all committee chairs to work with the club’s treasurer regarding spending budgeted dollars.

·         Glen Traylor and Jackie Brown were approved for membership in the club.  WELCOME!

·         Adopted the Foundation Committee’s recommendation to set a new goal for the club’s fund at the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, as we had met the previous goal.

·         Voted to continue the community holiday wishes event

·         Voted to approve a district and club grant  for a total of $1,000 to one of the agua prieta orphanages to enable the orphanage to fix their water pump so that they can have water.  Our sister rotary club in Agua Prieta will oversee the project.

·         Established a task force, with Debbie Aragon and Randy Rudasics as chairs, to look at how the club serves seniors and how we might address our singing program at the Doak to better serve the club and seniors.

·         Voted to support a district application to host a zone institute conference in September 2014.
