50 Years of Service to Routt County
 
The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs has been providing service to Steamboat and the Yampa River Valley for 50 years.  Come join us, have fun, and make a true difference to Routt County!  Our Club has provided over $2.5 million in grants and assistance in the past 25 years alone.
            
 
Mbaga International Project
The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club is involved in international projects.  Support has been provided to the Mbaga Tanzania Primary School where our club has provided funding to install electricity and has set up two new computers with a projector for classroom use.  Our club has also sent its Steamboat members to the school in Africa to assist with installation and instruction so the school can successfully launch these new educational tools.  Our club has also provided sewing machines and instructions for community members in Tanzania to produce sanitary bags for students to utilize at their school so that students can be more educationally successful by not having to worry about hygiene problems while attending school.
 
  
The school board and community members, trying out the two new laptops and projector, assisted by Thomas Bruen, a recent School of Mines electrical/computer engineering graduate.
Community Grant for Sleeping Giant School
Sleeping Giant School was awarded a $15,000 Rotary Impact Grant to help furnish its Outdoor Classroom.  The furnishings were installed last summer for use this school year.  Principal Joe Laliberte shared how the outdoor classroom has been used by the whole school grades K-8.  The school has also collaborated with the National Science Foundation to install a Doppler radar system on the campus to monitor weather patterns in the Yampa Valley.  Weather reports from this system can be accessed on the Weather Underground app.
